I received a Ph.D. degree in Applied Mathematics from  ELTE, the Budapest University of Science (Hungary) in 1998. My thesis was concerned with the numerical computation of radial wave functions by amplitude-phase methods. After one year of research at the Computer and Automation Research Institute in Budapest, in March 2000, I joined the Faculty of Mathematics, Mechanics, and Informatics, Vietnam National University Hanoi. I was promoted to an associate professor position in December 2007. In 2008, I was awarded a prestigious Humboldt Research Fellowship (for experienced researchers) for three research periods during 2009-2011 at Institute of Mathematics, Technical University in Berlin, Germany. In 2013's spring, I also spent one semester as visiting professor  at TUB with a grant from IMU Berlin EFP. In April 2014, I successfully defended the habilitation thesis entitled "Spectrum-based analysis for stability and robust stability of differential-algebraic equations" at Faculty Mathematics and Natural Science, TU Berlin. Shortly later, my habilitation (Lehrbefähigung) in mathematics was approved by the faculty committee and then awarded by the president of TU Berlin.

My research interests are the qualitative theory and numerical analysis of ordinary differential equations and differential-algebraic equations. Recently I have been focusing on stability, robust stability, and numerical methods of differential-algebraic equations and implicit dynamical systems. Currently I am serving in the editorial boards of Acta Mathematica Vietnamica and the book series Differential-Algebraic Equations Forum, both of which are published by Springer.
